We Remain on Earth
I am tobogganing down the snowy hill, Some of us need to stay on Earth, I could’ve been someone. Is this what feeling lost is like, I’ve stopped wandering, Stay in the same place, I could be anything, And my Soul remains At peace, I’m antsy earth, Shifting plates In this place, framed in the painting Of a home one day I’ll miss. I keep looking back, Climb the grassy hill To a castle, fire lit, It’s a real place. I reach for the pen, Follow its path Until I reach the end of the poem, I learn what it means to Feel Like I’m Letting out a breath I didn’t know I was holding in, No one likes to read it, But haven’t you Ever forgotten how to Stay on earth and Be?
